World Food Day Update, October 16th 2024

On October 16th, the Peterborough Food Action co-hosted a workshop with the Basic Income Peterborough Network. An update was shared, that included the following:

Food Insecurity in Canada has increased in severity, and prevalence.

Household Food Insecurity rates in the County and City of Peterborough remain high: nearly 1 in 5 households faced food insecurity between 2021-2023.
